A special book exhibition held at Library of Govt Degree College Indora to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the esteemed father of Library Science. The exhibition showcased a diverse collection of books. Attendees explored exhibits detailing his innovative principles, such as the Five Laws of Library Science, and engaged in discussions about the evolution of libraries. The event served as a tribute to Ranganathan’s enduring legacy and his contributions to the world of literature and learning.

                              The College has well maintained Library providing integrated knowledge resources through various platforms. It comprises of nearly 9396 Books. These books are organised and classified using DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) system. The college library is automated using Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) SOUL 2.0 Software.

                 The college library is subscribed to online platform N-LIST (National library and information services) INFLIBNET Gujarat. College teachers and students are enrolled with this online platform. Through N-LIST they can have access e- Shodh Sindhu and more than 3000 e-journals.

                    Oxford Scholarship, Springer e books, Sage Publication eBooks, Taylor Francis eBooks, Myilibrary-McGraw Hill, South Asia Archive, world e-Books Library .All these e-resources are accessible locally within the campus through the computer provided in library as well as remotely through user’s own devices with their own login credentials. College Library is provided with internet facility. This online platform encourage/provide access to various research work and remote resources to its users.

                       The Library Reading room is well furnished and has adequate space to accommodate students, teachers and provide conducive/peaceful environment for study.

                            College library is centrally located, well laid out and maintains the right atmosphere for learning. Library room have provision for both individual and group studies. The library also houses rich reference collection like Britannica reference Encyclopaedia, Encyclopaedia Dictionary of the world, Cambridge Encyclopaedia, The new Graham Encyclopaedia of the world, Science Encyclopaedia, Encyclopaedia of Careers and Vocational guidance, Millennium family Encyclopaedia and other reference materials. Exclusive reference section is available in the library for the users.

               A visitor’s register is maintained for students and teachers. New arrivals of books and magazine are displayed on separate stands and racks.

                     Security of resources is ensured through a system of checking at the exit point for all resources borrowed by the users.

                      The library has good stock of different subject books & reference books. The library subscribes to 7 Newspapers & magazine.

                 Annual Library book fair cum exhibition conducted in order to enhance the awareness in students and teachers with respect to books/resources available in library. All library users are encouraged regularly to utilize the information, knowledge and resources available. Library operation system workshops are conducted for students. In this workshop students are made aware with the working culture of library. Cataloguing, Classification of books, Stock maintenance/verification and functionality of library shown to students.
